The software loaded and installed on the first attempt, and it allowed me to create a full backup of my machine including OS and files. It is clearly written and easily understood it breaks down the steps needed to create a full system backup so that the layperson can do so easily. The user manual extracted as a PDF file, was easy to navigate, and explains exactly how to use the software. The ZIP for the Acronis WD software downloaded quickly and extracted cleanly. I purchased a 2TB WD external USB drive the other day and figured I'd give the Acronis WD Edition software a try since I had the machine stable for a while. I have an especially cranky Dell XPS15 running Windows 7 Pro - I've had to re-image the drive several times, and I've grown tired of the lengthy process needed to do so using the 5 or so DVDs that I burned using the W7 Backup & Restore > System Image wizard. This thing's getting a one-way trip to the recycle bin once I hit submit on this review. Only for it to say the uninstall failed because "the subkey cannot be found". By the time I was waiting OVER an hour for it to move on from File Exclusions, I just gave up on it and decided to try EaseUS instead.Īnd the cherry on top: TWICE now when trying to uninstall this garbage, it has managed to CRASH MY F***ING FILE EXPLORER. So I get up the next day and have to wait a similar close-to-an-hour's worth of time to advance to each following step. ![]() I had to go to sleep because it was verging on 3 in the morning, and I was waiting forever for the program just to advance to the next menu option after analyzing the source disk. THAT'S RIGHT! I NEVER EVEN GOT TO THE ACTUAL DISK-CLONING PROCESS! The disk-cloning tool is unimaginably slow. Installs a shit-ton of bloatware onto my system that runs like a dozen processes in the background. ![]() Idk how the other tools in the suite work, so I can only speak to my own experience with the disk-cloning feature, but I felt like I was in the twilight zone. If it does not I am thinking to use true image and then mirror both drives, externally and restore but then merge the two drives somehow to be one again.I made an account on this website JUST so I could talk about how garbage this program is for disk-cloning. What I am not sure about is if the restore function also reinstalls the keys and any custom apps and settings I have installed or simply restores via the registery the keys or does it image the configs and overright teh keys but also files it restores and any custom files or tweaks? I was considering using the backup function and restore using that to the new laptop. Furthermore, given Splunk's upwards revising profitability profile, it looks very likely that in a few quarters' time, Splunk will be on a run rate of $1 billion in free cash flow. Splunk Inc.'s newly updated guidance shows that there's still a growth engine in the company. This leaves the stock priced at around 17x forward free cash flow. ![]() With this consideration in mind, I believe that within a few quarters' time, Splunk will be on a $1 billion free cash flow annualized run rate. For that reason, we recommend that investors evaluate free cash flow on a trailing 12-month basis which totaled $776 million at the end of Q1, more than quadruple the $179 million generated over the 12 months ending April 30, 2022. Q1 is annually our largest free cash flow quarter driven by the seasonally high bookings in Q4, which are mostly collected in Q1. More specifically, during fiscal Q1 2024, free cash flow was up 253% y/y. And the recently upgraded non-GAAP profitability implies a dramatic ramp-up in profitability in H2 2024.įurthermore, on a free cash flow basis, Splunk is seeing a very rapid increase. In conclusion, there's no question that Splunk's profitability profile is indeed moving in the right direction. On the other hand, it's worthwhile to note that Splunk's SBC expense in the same quarter last year amounted to approximately 33% of its total revenues, while this time around SBC now accounts for 25% of total revenues. While I won't make any comments with regard to Splunk's bloated stock-based compensation ("SBC"), the fact remains that at some point, investors will demand even more aggressive reductions on Splunk's SBC expenses. This compares with its previously guided fiscal Q1 2024 negative 3% non-GAAP operating margin. This is particularly noteworthy given that Splunk's non-GAAP operating margin in the most recently reported quarter, fiscal Q1 2024 was 3.3%. Splunk upwards revised its non-GAAP operating margin by 100 basis points at the high. However, the good news has not stopped there. What's more, I suspect that it's now likely, given Splunk's recently found momentum, that it may in fact end up upwards revising its full-year fiscal 2024 outlook at some point in the coming quarters.Īfter all, despite the challenging comparables with fiscal H2 2023, it appears possible that analysts may be too bearish on Splunk's H2 prospects. For investors, this was a markedly positive surprise.Īfter all, as we headed into the print, Splunk was presumed to be growing in fiscal Q2 2023 by single digits: Expectations Had Been Reduced AlreadyĪs you can see above, Splunk's fiscal Q2 2024 guidance points to 12% y/y growth rates. ![]() There's a lot of demand for Splunk's operations, but I'm not sure that Splunk is retaining its market share. I suspect readers will know of Datadog and Elastic N.V. While there's tremendous demand for log management and operational intelligence platforms, there's also intense competition. Its primary use cases include IT operations and business analytics. Splunk focuses on operational intelligence and log management, specializing in analyzing machine-generated data. Machine data is data that is generated by apps and computers, and provides interesting and valuable data that can be used to drive business insights.Īs a machine data platform, Splunk competes with the likes of Datadog, Inc. They’re not Ghost of Tsushima 2-second cross-map loads out of the gate, but getting into space takes only a few seconds, caves a few seconds, new planets maybe 10-15 seconds. Load times are very quick on an SSD in Starfield. ![]() Starfield looks great – if your PC can handle the herculean task of running it well. In fact, I got a full 165fps in well-lit buildings, indicating there’s some deep optimization at play, only lacking in the consistency department. As Starfield is optimized for AMD tech and doesn’t include DLSS support on launch, I’m not necessarily going into this game with an advantage towards framerate, but I’m pleased to report that, much like past Bethesda titles, the only dips in performance are in bustling cities full of NPCs. I played that game on release in 2020 with an RTX 2070, and I’m going into Starfield with an RTX 3080 to tackle 1440p. Starfield is the biggest gut-check for high-end PCs since Cyberpunk 2077. This is where the role-playing aspect of Starfield truly comes in clutch and offers a great deal of replayability as you’ll likely deliberate this choice more and more across multiple playthroughs, of which there are likely to be more than just one depending how hooked you get. The Freestar Collective and The United Colonies are the biggest governing bodies, and of any Bethesda game yet, it’s actually quite tough to make a choice of which to join between the two. In typical Bethesda fashion, Starfield also has major factions who aren’t big fans of each other. Sam Coe, an ex-cowboy pilot voiced by Elias Toufexis, is an instant-favorite companion. You can take a break from the story at any point to go exploring, but I do suggest getting easy XP and better immersion powering through the tale as your main focus to start – especially since there’s so many systems to learn in Starfield. In a nutshell, you’re on the hunt for artifacts after an out-of-body experience, and the group Constellation is here to help you collect them across the Settled Systems, which you’re free to jump from planet/galaxy to planet/galaxy at will. That’s not typically how I like to play games of this nature, but this turns out to be pretty sound advice – you’re best off absorbing the universe within the fairly well-paced narrative. You may have seen some talk that the best way to play Starfield is to rush through the main story and *then* go exploring. So, how does the game stack up to sky-high expectations?
